Our Story
A passion for playability and tone.
I have been building guitars under the name of Shonky for over 12 years. It all started after finding several examples of guitars made from junk somewhere on the internet and I thought I could do that! so I built a couple of cigar box guitars and they worked and sounded ok so then I built some more and sold them under the name of Shonky guitars (yes Thats me)
the last few years I've found myself making much higher end instruments with less focus on the upcyling aspect and also developing a good reputation for reapirs and set ups.
These are built by hand to exacting standards and focus on getting the best playability and sound out of an instrument whilst still retaining a strong individualism which reflects myself as a builder and you the customer.
